Riddle me this

Despite temptation, I’d suggest avoid using the internet and/or an atlas and see whether you can answer the following questions:

There are 10 countries in the world with 4 letters to their (English) name. What are they?

There are 4 countries in the world that start with the letter D (again, English spellings). What are they?

The world’s newest countries: Name the last four countries to be officially become independent nations.

(Hint: They were all formed within this past decade.)

I LOVE this kind of question. At a work lunch the other day, two colleagues and I sat down trying to name ten countries that start with B, or something along those lines. We kept asking one another whether this made us antisocial! We kept telling each other it wasn’t the case. Anyhow, I can get six of the 10 –but I’m running out of puff!
