08/03/2012 6:07 pmOMG – I gave up sugar mid Feb – as I just Knew it was taking too big a part of my “pick me up – and energise me” routine. I found it tough especially straight espresso …and no more sprites/italina soft drinks etc …….but have plateaued. Keen to see how you go – whether I will invite the white stuff back into my life – albeit in a far smaller role ? n xx

08/03/2012 5:24 pmA fresh look at lunchtime Michael. Like you said, for most it’s about food. You describe lunchtime as an opportunity for open eye exploration…much better than a mac and cheese at mickey dees!
Excellent article! Will look forward to reading more on your adventures. I love to snorkel but would not have the courage to swim with whale sharks. Good for you!
Hey, what a joy to wake up to an update after so long! And quite an update too. Keep us posted on the pooch and the puss. It’ll be interesting to see their characters emerge
Hey Michael, good to hear from you again. Great to hear of all your adventures, some of which I heard personally from your second friend. Hope all continues well for you and look forward to future posts.
Hey Buddy , great to get an update from you. And such an update! Wow, you are a papa, twice over ! I’m just a step dad….
I am on the Innchanter, getting her ready for the season, I have hired an innkeeper for the summer, and I am moving to my cabin at the back of the bay for a month, to make sure all is going well, before joining Cam in Nelson. I look forward to your next adventures, and all the details of the last ones.
Hey Michael,
Great article and I can’t wait to read all the future entries that you teased in this one!
Wondered where you had been… now I know 😉
It’s nice to see that you start building your own little animal reserve.. .love that!
Keep up the good work!
Xox
Nice to you have back writing. Looking forward to more!
Looking forward to more on the whale shark! My dad and I (two of your fellow whale shark swimmers) had been checking your blog and were worried that something may have happened to you… looks like lots did, but mostly good! Glad to hear the travel adventure begins and looking forward to future articles of your on-going adventures. Being back at work I always enjoy living vicariously through fellow travelers. Thank goodness for summer vacation coming soon – more time to travel. Super cute cat – the coloring reminds me of a cat I had as a kid. Two thumbs up on the animal rescue! : )
Michael, you are so great to have rescued both of those animals. You will be rewarded from it everyday your pup or kitten curl up beside you and think “you are the best thing that ever happened to them”.
They will love you unconditionally.
I am looking forward to more of your stories.
Patty
Life is most beautiful…when it gets in the way!
I keep waiting for the unconditional love Patty. I’m sure it’s coming, but generally I’m either too busy picking up poop/cleaning the litter box OR when I do look in their eyes I see them saying – feed me, walk me, play with me, wash me (well actually that last one I made up – they never ‘ask’ to be washed, but I do it anyway) 😉
Kara, if I remember correctly YOU are a teacher. I humbly bow down in front of you … and your obvious patience and tenacity. I WILL work out how to resize my whale shark video so it can be uploaded very soon.
You’re a bit of a man of mystery yourself! What have you been up to lately matey?
Oh Michael- your “everyday” life is a far cry from what the rest of us experience. I love hearing of all the places you travel. So sorry to hear about the bank problem. And happy to hear that you ditched teaching for your first love (I mean writing!). Although, now you have “kids”, they’ll be taking that place in your heart. Don’t try to tell me that they’re not and you’ve probably already noticed, they tie you down!
